About Andy

What we can say about Andy is that he is a staunch and dedicated NDP supporter.  He has supported every candidate in the Swan River Valley for decades.  Every barbecue. Every pot luck.  Every sticker campaign.  Provincially and federally.  He does not shy away from listening to opposing views and is firm in his beliefs.  He does his research. The folks in the Swan River Valley know Dr. Andy Maxwell.

But for the rest of you, spread far and wide across our fabulous landscape above and below the escarpment, there is much good to share about our candidate.

Andy is a retired dentist.  He is very well known as Doc Maxwell, across the northern swath of the riding. He practiced for nearly 40 years in Swan River, just across from Timmies on Number 10, eventually handing off to his partners almost 10 years ago.

Andy is a furious protector of nature.  He and April have nurtured their plot and cabin on the south east bank of Wellman Lake for 40 years and still welcome friends and neighbours from around the community, the country and the planet, with the quickest of wit and the kindest of hospitality.

He has engaged in local politics, always pushing for sensible and logical solutions. It isn't just about winning. 

Andy is passionate about his skiing.  Water and X-country.  Sailing. Being on the water. And diving into solid and meaningful discussion.  It's about taking action and doing the right thing.  Always has been.

April and Andy's daughter Jessica (Daniel) provides maternelle in north-west Winnipeg.
